Australia-based tech firm Kerb has entered the Kenyan market, introducing a platform that lets property owners monetize unused parking spaces for vehicles ranging from cars to helicopters. The service, which launched in 2019, charges a minimum fee of Sh300 per parking spot.

Founded in 2016 by software developer Matt Salmon and marketer Rob Brown, Kerb provides car park management solutions to institutions like shopping malls, churches, and schools. The app connects users to available parking spaces near their destinations, emphasizing efficiency and infrastructure optimization.

The platform supports 19 languages across 300 cities globally. According to Brown, Kerb reduces urban congestion and environmental impact by utilizing existing parking infrastructure. "The app allows you to list an entire car park up in minutes, with customizable availability, pricing, and vehicle type specifications," he said.

Kerb’s Kenyan expansion aligns with growing demand for tech-driven parking solutions in East Africa’s urban centers.
