Gor Mahia FC will enter their 2019 CAF Confederations Cup Group 'D' encounter against Egyptian side Zamalek in Cairo without striker Dennis Oliech and Ugandan defender Shafik Batambuze, according to coach Hassan Oktay.

The match represents a critical juncture for the Kenyan club, which fell to a 1-0 defeat against Hussein Dey in their prior fixture, dropping to second place in the group. Zamalek's 1-0 victory over Angola's Petro Atletico has created an open qualification race with two matches remaining in the group stage.

Oktay confirmed Oliech's injury and Batambuze's suspension ahead of the pivotal encounter. The top two teams in Group 'D' will advance to the quarter-finals.

In separate developments, Ushuru FC's 19-year-old forward Brian Yakhama continued his standout season with a goal in a 3-0 victory over Kangemi Black Stars. The striker leads the National Super League with seven goals this campaign as his team maintains a three-point lead at the top of the table.
