Cameroon football icon Samuel Eto'o is preparing for a legal showdown in Madrid over allegations he is the biological father of a 19-year-old son from a 1997 encounter. The dispute involves Adileusa do Rosario Neves, a 39-year-old Cape Verdean woman who claims she became pregnant after meeting Eto'o at a Madrid nightclub while he was on loan at Leganes.
Adileusa's lawyer, Fernando Osuna, revealed the April 24 court hearing will determine if Eto'o must undergo a DNA test. "He has agreed to a voluntary test, but we doubt he will comply," Osuna stated. "Our case relies on photographs and witness affidavits, but refusal to participate would strengthen our position."
Eto'o, 37, who has six children with four partners, allegedly promised to "act responsibly" after Adileusa informed him of her pregnancy but later cut off contact. The outcome of the genetic test could enable the mother and son to pursue legal action against the former Barcelona and Chelsea star.
