Odinga accused Ruto of undermining anti-corruption efforts by framing dam project inquiries as political battles, following conflicting claims about funding totals.

The former prime minister urged lawmakers to refrain from public debates over ongoing investigations, emphasizing that regulatory bodies should handle such matters without political interference.

"If there are probes into the dam construction and the figures are clear, don't argue that it's Sh7 billion instead of Sh21 billion," Odinga stated during a speech at the sixth devolution conference in Kirinyaga county.

Ruto recently denied allegations that Sh21 billion had been lost in the Arror and Kimwarer dam projects, asserting only Sh7 billion was in question and vowing full recovery of the funds.

Odinga also rejected attempts to link tribal representation to corruption investigations, stressing that all suspects should face scrutiny regardless of their government positions. He referenced global examples where leaders, including heads of state, had been prosecuted for financial misconduct.
