Zuri Awards, an annual event celebrating Kenyan women's achievements since 2016, will honor 15 recipients across 15 categories at a March 7 gala. The ceremony, held at Villa Rosa Kempinski, coincides with International Women’s Day and adopts the 2019 theme 'Balance for Better.'
The awards, organized by Go Gaga Experiential Ltd, feature categories spanning STEM, agriculture, healthcare, renewable energy, and more. Sponsors include Barclays Bank of Kenya, Safaricom, KCB, and Sochin Agency. A keynote address will be delivered by Prof Margaret Kobia, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Youth, and Gender Affairs.
Director Muthoni Mumo stated the expansion from four to 15 nominees reflects growing recognition of women's contributions. 'This will be a game changer, inspiring innovation and creativity across sectors,' she said.
