On July 31, 2019, the Starehe Boys Center announced plans to hold a memorial service for the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth.
Okoth, who died last week after a fierce battle with colorectal cancer, was a student at the Starehe Boys Center from January 1992 to November 1995.
He was accepted to the prestigious school after scoring 619 marks in the KCPE exam out of a possible 700 marks, earning him a place due to his high marks and needy background.
While at Starehe, Okoth was a member of the Kirkley House.
The funeral service at Starehe will be presided over by the school's chaplain, Reverend Josphat Wangoto, who will be assisted by the school's associate Chaplain, Father Patrick Chege.
Other funeral services will be held in honour of Ken Okoth at Moi Girls in Kibra Constituency on Thursday, The University of Nairobi on Friday, and Got Rateng Open Grounds in Kasipul Kabondo in Homabay County on Saturday.
