On August 9, during the Huawei Developer Conference, Honor will unveil its first smart TV, which boasts a 55-inch display and a pop-up camera, a feature previously limited to smartphones.
According to Honor president George Zhao, the TV will run on HongMeng OS, a new operating system that was initially considered an Android competitor but is now emerging as an IoT solution for multiple devices across Honor and Huawei's portfolio.
The Honor Vision TV will also feature the Honghu 818 intelligent chipset, an AI chip developed in partnership between Huawei and Baidu specifically for smart screen products.
Key features of the TV include a pop-up AI selfie camera, face recognition capabilities, and support for far-field voice recognition, hinting at the presence of a built-in smart assistant.
The 55-inch display is already listed on the Chinese e-commerce website JD.com, with a price tag of 9,999 yuan (approximately $1,453 USD) for pre-orders.
With its innovative features and cutting-edge technology, the Honor Vision TV is poised to be a game-changer in the television market.
