Over 46% of the ultra-wealthy saw reduced fortunes compared to 2018, with 247 individuals falling off the list, the largest exit since 2009’s global financial crisis.
Regional shifts highlighted stark disparities. Asia-Pacific lost 60 billionaires, led by China’s 49-person decline. In contrast, the Americas saw gains, with the U.S. reaching a record 607 billionaires. The U.S. list includes 14 of the world’s 20 richest, with Jeff Bezos topping the rankings and Bill Gates at second. Brazil also maintained growth in its billionaire population.
