On July 31, 2019, Oppo launched its latest smartphone, the Reno 10x Zoom, in Kenya, taking the tech world by storm with its impressive camera capabilities.
The Reno 10x Zoom features a powerful camera with up to 10x optical zoom, a feature that sets it apart from its competitors. This is made possible by the combination of three camera lenses: a 48MP primary lens, a 13MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP wide-angle lens.
One of the standout features of the Reno 10x Zoom is its pop-up camera, which is designed to resemble a shark fin. This camera is equipped with a retracting pivotal structure that automatically retracts back for safety whenever the phone senses a fall.
The Reno 10x Zoom also features a 6.6-inch AMOLED capacitive screen, which is a significant improvement over other flagships in its price range. The phone's design is also noteworthy, with a beautiful enhanced feel and texture that comes in two shades: ocean green and jet black.
However, the Reno 10x Zoom falls short in some areas. For instance, it doesn't engage the telephoto camera when zooming, instead cropping on the image generated by the main camera. This limits its zoom capabilities to still images only.
Despite this limitation, the Reno 10x Zoom offers a range of impressive features, including a fast optical fingerprint sensor, a 4000mAh battery capacity, and an endurance rating of 107 hours in battery life tests.
The phone is available for pre-order in Kenya, with a pre-order period that runs up to July 28, 2019. Pre-order buyers can look forward to a premium gift box worth Sh10,000.
