Prophet David Owuor faces renewed scrutiny from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) following allegations of property fraud involving assets valued at billions of shillings. The investigation centers on two high-value properties in Nairobi, including Dove Apartments in Westlands and a Riverside Drive complex, as well as a 2011 land transaction in Thika.

The DCI, led by Detective Chief Inspector Francis Wanjau, has seized property documents from the Westlands and Riverside sites. Jayne Muthoni’s family alleges that Owuor’s church forcibly took control of the multi-storey apartments, compelling Muthoni to appoint a follower as co-director of Shaba Investments Limited, which manages the properties.

Investigators are tracing monthly rental income from the 14 townhouses at Dove Apartments, generating Ksh.2.3 million monthly and Ksh.28.5 million annually. The probe also examines the 2011 sale of 108 acres in Thika for Ksh.850.7 million, with police seeking to verify financial transactions and beneficiaries.

Bishops from the Repentance and Holiness Ministry have defended Owuor amid media inquiries, though no official statement has been released regarding the allegations. The case highlights growing legal challenges for the self-proclaimed prophet as authorities pursue evidence of financial misconduct.
