Pesapal has launched a mobile application designed to streamline payments for essential and recreational services. The platform, named Pesapal Mobile, allows users to manage transactions including airtime purchases, utility bills, flight bookings, event tickets, and school fee payments. Available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, the app aims to simplify daily financial interactions through a centralized, free service.
The app supports secure transactions via Mpesa, Visa, and Mastercard. Users can store card details for automated payments to bank-issued debit and credit cards, while Mpesa users can save phone numbers for fee-free transactions. Integration with major service providers enables direct payments for telecom, entertainment, and travel services.
"This app redefines convenience by bringing everyday services closer to Kenyans and offering access to lifestyle experiences through food, entertainment, and travel," said Pesapal CEO Mark Mwongela. The platform partners with Jamii Telcom, DStv, GOtv, Zuku, Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom for bill payments and airtime services. Food delivery from Nairobi restaurants and flight bookings with global and regional airlines are also available.
Travelers can access holiday packages at over 200 Kenyan hotels and international destinations like Singapore and Dubai, with installment payment options. School fee payments are facilitated for 12,000 institutions using Pesapal's infrastructure. The app also creates business opportunities for merchants by offering a cost-effective platform to reach new customers.
Pesapal has partnered with Ticketsasa for event, flight, and holiday bookings, and Yum for food delivery. Additional integrations with insurance and e-commerce services are planned as the platform expands.
