Kenya Airways issued a directive on Wednesday advising passengers with flights after 11 a.m. to avoid traveling to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi due to ongoing disruptions caused by a strike involving aviation workers.
The airline cited a work boycott by members of the Kenya Airline Workers Union (KAWU) as the cause of the chaos, which began in the early hours of the day. The strike, driven by disputes over management practices, staff hiring policies, and a proposed airport takeover by Kenya Airways, led to a complete halt in arrivals at the airport since 3 a.m.

The airline specified that only passengers traveling on KQ100 to London, KQ116 to Amsterdam, and KQ210 to Mumbai could proceed with check-in. Meanwhile, reports indicated that airport entry points were partially sealed by striking workers, prompting police deployment to manage crowds at the terminal.
