South Korean golfer Ho-Sung Choi, recognized for his unconventional 'fisherman's swing,' has been invited to participate in the 2019 Magical Kenya Open, set for March 14-17 at Nairobi's Karen Country Club.
Choi, a self-taught player who learned golf from magazine articles, gained global attention through social media for his theatrical follow-through, which involves lifting his right foot and executing varied finishing motions. Despite his unorthodox technique, he holds three international titles, including the 2018 Casio World Open in Japan.
The 45-year-old, currently ranked outside the world's top 200, will join 2018 European Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjørn and rising star Shubhankar Sharma in Kenya. This marks the first time the East African nation hosts a European Tour event, having previously been part of the European Challenge Tour since 1991.
