Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez will miss action for up to six weeks following a knee injury, according to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Solskjaer confirmed the diagnosis during a press conference in Paris ahead of the Champions League last 16 second leg against Paris Saint-Germain. "It was a bad knee injury, so it's four weeks or six weeks. Hopefully he'll recover quickly," the manager said.
The Premier League side faces an uphill battle against the French club after losing 2-0 in the first leg at Old Trafford. Sanchez departed early in United's 3-2 victory over Southampton, joining several other injured players in the medical unit.
Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, and Ander Herrera are already sidelined, while Paul Pogba is suspended after being sent off in the opening match. To address the personnel shortage, five academy graduates were added to the 20-player squad traveling to Paris.
