Ndii's comments followed allegations linking Ruto to a Sh21 billion scandal involving the Arror and Kamwerer dams project in Elgeyo Marakwet. The economist referenced a 2015 statement emphasizing moral equivalence between the two leaders, calling it "laughable" to distinguish their integrity.
"Their [Uhuru, Ruto] backgrounds may be as different as chalk and cheese but in terms of political morality, there is nothing to choose between them," Ndii quoted from his 2015 remarks, which the original 2012 source attributed to his analysis of Kenyan political dynamics.
