Australian parking management platform Kerb has launched in Kenya, offering a digital solution for parking space rentals and management. The app, which operates in 19 languages across 300 cities globally, enables individuals and organizations to list available parking spaces for cars, motorcycles, boats, and other vehicles.

Global Expansion and Local Implementation

Founded in 2016 by Rob Brown and Matt Salmon, Kerb provides a car park management system that allows users to customize availability, pricing, and vehicle restrictions for individual parking bays. The Kenya launch precedes planned expansion across East Africa, with the platform already serving commercial and residential users in multiple countries.

Monetization and Flexibility

Users can rent parking spaces for KES 300 per day, with pricing varying by location. The app supports both short-term and long-term leasing options, including weekly or monthly payments via direct debit. Landlords can set specific terms for each space, which renters must accept before booking.

Kerb also facilitates fundraising for institutions such as churches and schools, while helping businesses and municipalities optimize parking resources. The platform provides free signage for listed spaces and allows for document collection during registration.

Technological Features

The Kerb platform enables users to list entire car parks in minutes, with options for instant booking and customized space management. Its technology targets urban areas with high parking demand, aiming to reduce time and cost associated with traditional parking methods.
