Kylie Jenner, the youngest member of the Kardashian family, has become the world’s youngest self-made billionaire at 21, according to Forbes. The publication noted she surpassed Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who reached billionaire status at 23.
Forbes valued Jenner’s beauty brand, Kylie Cosmetics, at $900 million in 2019, citing a 9% revenue increase to $360 million in 2018. The report attributed growth to her partnership with Ulta Stores and a social media following of 200 million, which drives direct product promotion.
"Fuelled in part by the Ulta expansion, Kylie Cosmetics’ revenue climbed 9% last year to an estimated $360 million. With that kind of growth, and even using a conservative multiple from the booming makeup industry, Forbes estimates Jenner’s company is worth at least $900 million," the publication stated.
Jenner’s empire operates with seven full-time and five part-time employees, outsourcing manufacturing to Seed Beauty in Oxnard, California. She launched her brand in 2015 with a $29 lip kit, which sold out within hours. Forbes noted her $1 billion net worth includes cash withdrawals from the business.
The 21-year-old, daughter of Kris Jenner and former Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner, has three half-sisters—Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian—and a sibling, Kendall, who is a supermodel.
