A mother and two children died in a fire that destroyed a four-story building in Eastleigh in 2019, according to reports. The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. at a rental apartment on 19th Street, Eastleigh Section 3, where residents described hearing a loud explosion before flames engulfed the unit.
Neighbors speculated the blaze originated from a gas-related incident, with one witness stating initial confusion over the source of the detonations delayed emergency response efforts. Other building occupants escaped without injury, though the fire resulted in three fatalities.
A local witness, Abdul, recounted that county fire officials arrived after significant damage had already occurred. He said, "We had a bang and thought it was the transformer that had exploded. After some time, we had another bang, so we decided to walk to the area. There were two Administration Officers in the area who notified the county fire department, but by the time they arrived, the fire had already caused extensive damage."
