He stated the government's anti-corruption efforts aim to protect public interests by recovering illicit assets and pursuing legal action against misconduct.
The remarks were made at the sixth devolution conference, where the president highlighted improved county-level development outcomes. He criticized politicians for exploiting sensitive events to make public accusations, urging them to direct such claims to official channels.
"Those who accuse colleagues of corruption at funerals or weddings should instead approach the Directorate of Criminal Investigations," Kenyatta said. "The deceased cannot respond, but the DCI can take formal action." He reiterated that corruption investigations are not targeted at specific individuals or groups.
