LG Electronics has renewed its sponsorship of the Kenyan Premier League's footballer of the month awards program for the fifth consecutive year, partnering with the Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) to support player recognition and grassroots development.
Ms. Maureen Kemunto, LG Electronics' Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager, highlighted the brand's observation of growing enthusiasm among players during league preparations over the past three years. She stated, "We are proud to once again partner with SJAK as their official partners of the footballer of the month initiative. This collaboration has significantly strengthened our connection with Kenyan consumers."
The company has allocated Kshs 500,000 to fund three corporate social responsibility projects led by SJAK in different counties, focusing on youth football development. SJAK president Chris Mbaisi noted, "LG's partnership has contributed to improved player quality in the league. The awards and CSR initiatives have elevated the league's profile and recognition."
He added, "With this renewed partnership, we aim to identify new talent nationwide and further enhance Kenya's football ecosystem."
SJAK, an affiliate of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) based in Switzerland, works to strengthen collaboration among sports media while advocating for professional interests of its members.
