President Uhuru Kenyatta directly challenged Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi to submit evidence of alleged land grabbing at Karura Forest to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) rather than making accusations at funerals. The president emphasized that any claims of corruption must be formally reported through official channels.
Sudi had accused Kenyatta's family of amassing wealth through corrupt deals during the annual Devolution Conference in Kirinyaga County on March 5, 2019. In response, Kenyatta stated, "I want to tell him to walk to Karura forest and at the DCI offices and report what I have stolen. There's no problem." He reiterated his willingness to face legal consequences, declaring, "I am ready to go to jail if I have stolen."
The president argued that deceased individuals could not address corruption cases, asserting, "The person who can help you is DCI. Go and report and tell the world that I have reported Uhuru Kenyatta has stolen this and this with evidence to back it up." He emphasized that allegations should be pursued through formal investigations rather than public accusations at funerals.
