The meeting, intended to address lingering tensions stemming from the 2017 general elections, allegedly saw Governor Joseph Ole Lenku exclude key opponents from discussions.
Weekly Citizen reports that Lenku ensured dissenting voices, including Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi and Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko, were barred from engaging with the head of state. The governor faces allegations of employing a 'hit and run' political strategy, favoring adversaries of his opponents while sidelining those who resist his influence.
The State House gathering was meant to unify county leaders, but critics argue the exclusion of elected representatives has deepened divisions. Memusi and Tobiko, who reportedly clash with Lenku, were not granted access to the presidential meeting, according to the report.
