U.S. President Donald Trump has signaled an uncompromising approach to U.S.-China trade negotiations, stating any agreement must meet exacting standards before being accepted, according to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

"It’s got to be right," the secretary said, citing the administration’s position as outlined in a State Department-transcribed interview released Tuesday.
