During the event, Kenyatta specifically addressed Bahati MP, instructing him to report any allegations of illegal acquisitions to the appropriate authorities. The president also urged county leaders to prioritize development initiatives, stressing that local governance must align with national anti-graft efforts.
The statements follow revelations of a major financial scandal involving the Arror and Kimwarer Dam projects, which have reportedly resulted in over 20 billion shillings being unaccounted for in the national treasury. Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich was summoned for further questioning on Tuesday, signaling intensified scrutiny of the case.
