Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali has accused Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti of selectively targeting allies of Deputy President William Ruto in Kenya's anti-corruption campaign, urging the agency to focus on President Uhuru Kenyatta's family instead.

Over the past six months, 17 senior officials linked to Ruto have faced arrests and prosecutions on corruption charges, including Sports Cabinet Secretary Richard Echesa, who was removed from his post in early 2019. Washiali, also serving as National Assembly Chief Whip, claimed Kenyans are aware of the Kenyatta family's long-standing influence over the nation since independence in 1963.

"The Kenyatta, Odinga, and Odinga dynasties have conspired to block Ruto from becoming president in 2022," Washiali stated during a press conference. He argued that Ruto, representing Kenya's majority poor population, would overcome these obstacles to win the 2022 election.

The allegations come as the Kenyan DAILY POST reported in 2012 that all rights were reserved, with the publication designed by Denno.
