Actis, a growth markets investment firm, and Shapoorji Pallonji Real Estate (SPRE), an Indian conglomerate's real estate division, have unveiled a joint-venture platform focused on delivering affordable and middle-income housing solutions across Sub-Saharan Africa, starting with Kenya.
The initiative aligns with Kenya's Big Four Agenda, specifically its Affordable Housing pillar, which aims to address the region's critical housing deficit. The partnership seeks to bridge the gap between rising demand for quality residential spaces and available supply, according to executives.
David Morley, Actis's global head of real estate, expressed confidence in the venture's potential to generate sustainable returns while meeting market needs. Venkatesh Gopalkrishnan, SPRE's CEO, emphasized the project's role in exceeding customer expectations through quality construction and innovative design.
Koome Gikunda, an Actis director, highlighted that the collaboration prioritizes building consumer trust through consistent delivery of high-standard housing options tailored to local requirements.
