The footage, which circulated widely on social media, captures the singer in a bedroom being struck multiple times by an unidentified man. The incident occurred during an argument, according to the video.
Simelane's father revealed that his daughter recorded the confrontation after fearing for her safety. 'She saw him about to kill her yesterday and threatens to kill himself whenever she tries to leave,' he stated, referencing the alleged perpetrator.
Westville Police Station confirmed they are investigating the case following the singer's formal assault complaint. A family spokesperson told News24 that the case was filed on Monday afternoon, with authorities urging the suspect to cooperate in the inquiry.
