A Nigerian national was detained at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after police discovered 77 pellets of suspected heroin concealed in milk-filled plastic bottles, with an additional 15 pellets found during processing. The 25-year-old suspect, identified as Princess Okoye, was intercepted while attempting to board a flight to Italy and remains under investigation. Airport authorities reported that the narcotics seizure occurred amid broader efforts to curb drug trafficking, which has seen a decline due to heightened security measures.

Separately, police are investigating a burglary at a Gigiri-area residence where two armed individuals, wearing balaclavas, stole a firearm, 120 rounds of ammunition, jewelry, electronics, and cash from a 75-year-old businessman. No injuries were reported during the weekend incident, though authorities suspect the perpetrators had prior knowledge of the valuables on site. A manhunt for the suspects is ongoing.

Police noted that drug traffickers have increasingly shifted operations to land routes following improved airport security. The arrested woman is expected to appear in court to determine her legal status as investigations continue.
