South African singer Babes Wodumo livestreamed an alleged domestic abuse incident on Instagram, revealing her boyfriend, DJ Mampintsha, physically assaulting her at their residence. The 10-second clip, which rapidly circulated online, showed the singer arguing with the DJ before he allegedly struck and kicked her while pulling her hair.

A South African police spokesperson confirmed the national commissioner had ordered investigators to locate Wodumo for a formal statement, stating a criminal case would be initiated if the footage confirmed the assault.

"The national commissioner has ordered police to trace the whereabouts of Ms Wodumo so that a statement can be obtained from her and a case opened if indeed it's her being assaulted in the video."

The incident occurred on March 5, 2019, during a live stream that drew significant attention from international audiences. No official response has been released from Wodumo or Mampintsha as of the latest reports.

The original report noted the website's copyright year as 2012, though the incident itself transpired in 2019.
