Nabii David Owuor is accused of orchestrating a financial scheme to appropriate $1.5 billion from a family trust, according to allegations involving properties in Nairobi's Westlands and Riverside areas.
The family claims Owuor, leader of the Repentance and Holiness Ministry, exploited a 2005 arrangement to divert funds through large-scale real estate transactions. Relatives allege he controlled assets worth millions, using them to sustain his religious activities nationwide.
A family member stated Owuor partnered with church officials to appoint Jayne Muthoni as a financial manager, claiming she was manipulated through undisclosed medical treatments that impaired her mental capacity. "We demanded the family assets be recovered, insisting Jayne Muthoni appoint a financial director to manage her inheritance," the relative said.
"They forced my sister Jayne Muthoni to choose a financial director to access her inheritance," the family member added. "There were seven million transactions, with funds transferred to her bank account," he revealed, citing a statement from Duncan Muthoni.
The family claims Owuor relocated to a Riverside property to facilitate asset transfers, operating it as a church office. No official response has been released from Owuor or his ministry.
