Barclays Kenya has been implicated in corruption allegations following revelations that the bank facilitated the transfer of £4 billion from Italy intended for dam construction projects in Kenya. The funds, part of a larger £6.3 billion allocation for infrastructure development, were reportedly rerouted through the bank's Westlands branch.

The funds were later withdrawn in US dollars from the Westlands branch, raising questions about their intended use for Italian firm CMC di Ravenna's projects.
