Gareth Bale's agent has condemned the treatment he received from Real Madrid fans during a recent match against Barcelona, calling it "a disgrace." The Wales forward was met with jeers when substituted after 61 minutes in the 1-0 defeat at the Bernabeu.

Jonathan Barnett, Bale's representative, stated that the fan backlash was unwarranted. "This generation of Real fans will be talking about Gareth’s goals for years to come. They should be ashamed of themselves. Those fans should be kissing his feet," he said.

Bale joined Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2013 for a then-world-record £85m fee. Over six seasons, he has secured four Champions League titles and one La Liga championship. Despite scoring 13 goals in 33 appearances during the 2018-2019 campaign, speculation about his future at the club has persisted.

Barnett denied reports of tension within the squad, asserting, "Gareth is happy, speaks reasonable Spanish, and there is no issue between him and his teammates. The people writing these stories know nothing about him." He emphasized that Bale has no intention of leaving Madrid before his contract expires in 2022.

Earlier this month, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois suggested Bale had not fully integrated into Spanish culture, while full-back Marcelo claimed the forward communicated with teammates through gestures due to limited Spanish proficiency.
