Kenyan citizens and social media users have called for the dismissal of Finance Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich following allegations of financial misconduct tied to the Kimwarer Dam project. The CS was interrogated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) team led by Kinoti on Monday morning from 5 AM at the Kiambu headquarters.
"Henry Rotich Must go!" repeated multiple times in a tweet from Charles (@Charlogutu) on March 5, 2019, urging the president to act before public funds are depleted. The user also tweeted: "RT till the idiot leave office before all of us become beggars!"
Lord Abraham Mutai (@ItsMutai) questioned the presence of several cabinet members, including Rotich, in an April 2019 post, stating: "Mr President, What is Kiunjuri doing in your Cabinet, What is Balala doing in your Cabinet?" The tweet included the hashtag #MrPresidentTumechoka.
A tweet from DrOO•? (@DrOOelm) on March 5, 2019, quoted Rotich as saying: "For my next trick, I'm going to make a 20billion disappear." The message was shared via a link to a Twitter post.
