A family has raised concerns about Jane Njagi's alleged brainwashing by Prophet Awuor, citing her property transfers and restricted communication.

Jane Njagi, a former lawyer with JM Njagi and Advocates, joined the ministry of David Awuor, leader of Kings Outreach Church, before becoming a bishop. The church has faced accusations of coercive practices due to its members' unwavering loyalty to Awuor.

A church representative, lawyer Kimani Watenga, confirmed Njagi had retired from legal practice and was serving as a bishop. According to reports, she vacated her serviced apartment on Rahpta Road, Westlands, in March 2019, donating it to the church for religious activities.

Njagi's relatives allege she was isolated from news of her mother's death in 2019. Guards at her Riverside Drive residence reportedly barred family members, allowing access only through her personal assistant. Her brother Duncan was permitted to deliver the obituary after presenting a newspaper clipping.

Lily Muthoni Macharia, a church member, claimed she was managing Njagi's finances to protect her from exploitation. However, the church denied any interest in the lawyer's properties, stating it would vacate the premises if requested.
