Kenya's Shujaa rugby team has strengthened its roster with the arrival of Johnstone Olindi in Canada ahead of the 2019 Vancouver7s tournament. Olindi, a key performer this season, will play a critical role in the team's campaign for the sixth leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series.
In the 2018/2019 season, Olindi ranks third in team scoring with 64 points from ten tries and seven conversions. He trails Vincent Onyala (77 points) and Daniel Taabu (70 points) in the points chart. Captain Jacob Ojee is fourth with 40 points, while Cyprian Kuto follows with 35 points.
Shujaa faces Fiji on March 9 at 8:36 PM, Samoa on March 10 at 12:30 AM, and hosts Canada on March 10 at 3:40 AM in Pool C. The team finished 13th in the Las Vegas Sevens with 17 points after a 24-7 semifinal loss to Spain following earlier wins against Argentina and Japan.
