Singer Akothee has shared her thoughts on why she prefers not to employ university graduates in her businesses.

According to Akothee, the problem with graduates is that they often expect high salaries despite lacking the necessary experience to back up their claims. She has revealed that she has employed over 20 graduates in the past, only to have to release them within the first month due to their inability to adapt to the work environment.

Akothee emphasized that she values hard work and dedication over academic qualifications, stating, “I am afraid some of them look like they bought exams or someone sat the papers for them, as a parent I am worried.” She also expressed frustration with graduates who expect to be paid high salaries without putting in the effort to produce results.

Instead of relying solely on academic qualifications, Akothee believes that experience and a willingness to learn are essential qualities for success in the workforce. She has highlighted the importance of on-the-job training and hands-on experience in developing the skills needed to excel in a particular field.
