MP Kimani Ngunjiri has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta's family of selling a London parking lot allocated to Kenya Airways for 7.5 billion in 2016. The land, originally allocated by the UK government to Kenya Airways for aircraft parking, was sold during Kenyatta's presidency, according to Ngunjiri's allegations.
Ngunjiri, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, criticized Kenya Airways' fleet size, stating the airline operates only three planes while others are owned by private entities. He linked this to the airline's declining direct flight services, calling it a 'shameful' state of affairs.
The MP also claimed that Chinese companies have dominated local contracts and employment opportunities, hindering county development. His remarks followed allegations that Kenyatta family interests were involved in the 2016 sale of the parking lot, which Ngunjiri vowed to expose through public forums.
