Gareth Bale's agent has criticized Real Madrid fans for what he called 'nothing short of a disgrace' following a recent match, after sections of the Bernabeu crowd booed the Wales forward during his substitution.
Jonathan Barnett, representing the 29-year-old, stated: 'This generation of Real fans will be talking about Gareth's goals for years to come. They should be ashamed of themselves. Those fans should be kissing his feet.'
Bale joined Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2013 for a then-world record £85m, helping the club win four Champions Leagues and one La Liga title. Despite scoring 13 goals in 33 games during the 2018-2019 season, speculation about his future has persisted despite his contract extending until June 2022.
Barnett denied reports of a potential exit, asserting: 'There has not been one single discussion about Gareth leaving Madrid. He isn't going anywhere this summer. He's content, he wants to stay at Real and they want him.'
The agent also dismissed claims about Bale's integration, countering Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois' previous remarks that the forward had not adapted to Spanish life, and full-back Marcelo's assertion that Bale did not speak Spanish and communicated only through gestures.
