Nana Owiti, wife of Kenyan rapper King Kaka, has shared her experience of a 2014 miscarriage, describing the shock of discovering she had carried a nonviable pregnancy for weeks. The mother of two recounted spotting blood in April 2014 while using a restroom, prompting immediate concern.
"In April 2014, I went to the washroom and got a blood stain. Very fast I Google and somewhere hapo napata ooh! Sijui implantation bleeding," she said. A hospital scan confirmed the loss, with medical professionals informing her the pregnancy had ended weeks prior.
"The best we can do is aoshwe as soon as possible... she’s been walking around with a dead baby for weeks," a sonographer told her. The revelation devastated Owiti, who described feeling "died a little" upon learning the truth. She later reflected on the trauma of the experience, including fears about her ability to conceive again and concerns about her relationship with King Kaka.
Owiti eventually gave birth to their daughter Gweth in 2017 and son Prince Iroma in 2020. She urged others facing similar struggles to seek support, stating: "Time is a healer... your blessing is coming."
