Two suspects in the 2019 murder of Mary Wambui Kamangara will remain in custody for another 14 days as their bond application is postponed. Judy Wangui, the mistress of the victim's husband Joseph Kori, and car-hire operator Michael Githae denied involvement in the killing and body disposal at a Juja dam.
The prosecution opposed their release, citing the need for additional time to prepare responses. State Counsel Christine Ndombi requested a delay to address why the suspects should not be freed on bail. The court scheduled the bond hearing for March 18, with pretrial proceedings set for July 30 and final hearings on October 7 and 8.
Wangui, wearing a hoodie with the phrase "Who do you want near to you when all your dreams come true?" to obscure her face, and Githae appeared in court for a brief hearing. Investigators confirmed Kori was exonerated and not charged, while his involvement as a potential witness remains undetermined.
