Bata Africa unveiled its first red concept store in Nairobi's Karen Hub in 2019, marking the company's 80th anniversary in Kenya. The retail space emphasizes red and white branding through visual merchandising and digital wall displays, aiming to create an exclusive shopping experience.
Keziah Kabutu, Bata's advertising manager, described the design philosophy: "This new concept combines product, marketing, and in-store organization to deliver an international shopping experience for Angela, our target consumer." Alberto Errico, Bata Africa president, called the launch "the perfect gift to our customers" for the anniversary.
The Karen Hub store follows a Sh45 million investment in a Limuru-based boots manufacturing plant. Established to comply with President Uhuru Kenyatta's 2019 directive for local military gear procurement, the facility produces police boots using domestically sourced materials.
