Over 200 passengers were stranded at JKIA on Monday after Kenya Airways crew members failed to report for duty, leading to flight cancellations and significant delays.
Travelers arriving as early as 3am encountered multiple schedule changes, with one passenger describing a flight originally scheduled for 5am being rescheduled to 6pm—a 13-hour delay. 'No one has been told what the real issues are,' the traveler said.
Kenya Airways management confirmed the absence of the captain and crew, directing passengers to file complaints through their website. Some travelers expressed frustration over the lack of alternative arrangements, with one stating, 'I had a business appointment at 1pm. You're telling me to launch a complaint?'
Passengers reported being transferred to city hotels after waiting until 10am, with no official explanation provided for the staffing failure.
