On July 25, President Uhuru Kenyatta met the five finalists of the Ms President Reality Show at State House Nairobi, a positive signal of the country's secured democracy.
The show, which has been airing since January 30, will conclude tonight with the announcement of a winner from five finalists - Waruguru wa Kiai, Renee Irene Mayaka, Betty Adera, Nereah Amondi Oketch, and Umulkheir Mohammed.
Yesterday, the European Union (EU) praised the programme, saying it demonstrated that women had huge potential in leadership.
Josephine Kalinauckas, the EU's Head of Section in Delegation Foreign Policy Instruments in East and Southern Africa, said the contestants had shown that women could articulate societal issues when given a platform.
The EU representative added that the reality show was a call to Kenyans to change their mindsets and accommodate more women in leadership, and that the solutions to the country's challenges should be tailored to the local context.
The winner will be announced from viewers' votes through a free Short Messaging Service code.
