Honeywell International Inc has revised its forecast for civilian helicopter deliveries, now projecting 4,000 units through 2023 compared to 4,200 previously, citing a global economic slowdown as a key factor, according to the U.S. industrial conglomerate.
Heath Patrick, president of Americas aftermarket at Honeywell Aerospace, noted that inconsistent economic conditions in international markets have led to reduced purchase plans by fleet managers globally over the past year.
The company anticipates improved demand in North America, where purchase plans have risen 5 percentage points year-on-year, while declines are expected in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. North America accounts for over 40% of the world’s helicopter fleet.
Latin America saw a 26-point drop in purchase plans, compared to 7 points in Europe and 5 points in Asia. In China, new helicopter acquisition plans remain stable, with approximately 21% of the country’s fleet projected to be replaced or expanded within five years.
