Deputy President William Ruto was advised to cooperate with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) regarding the Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal, which involves allegations of mismanaged funds. The controversy centers on the construction of two dams in Elgeyo-Marakwet county, with claims of a 21 billion shilling shortfall.
Ruto denied allegations that funds for the projects were lost, stating only KSh 7 billion remained unaccounted for. However, Tiaty MP William Kamket, a KANU member, urged the vice president to provide full disclosure to DCI director George Kinoti. "Investigation into the scandal is already underway. If you (Ruto) have any information, take it to the DCI. Don't tell us only KSh 7 billion...All we want to see are dams and water," Kamket said.
