The car originally belonged to former President Daniel Moi, who had sold it after an accident. Sonko described how police mistook the vehicle for a stolen car linked to Moi, leading to a confrontation. His wife, driving with their children, refused to stop when pursued by officers, prompting a random gunfire attack that left the family unharmed due to the car's armor.
"This is how innocent Kenyans meet their deaths," Sonko warned, urging compliance with police stops. The incident concluded with the family being detained at Buru Buru police station before being released.
