The Nairobi Governor's office has confirmed the selection of six companies to oversee the regeneration of seven city estates through a multi-billion shilling housing initiative, following prolonged delays and public scrutiny.
A report from the City Assembly's Planning and Housing committee revealed the contractors tasked with constructing affordable housing units across Old and New Ngara, Jeevanjee, Suna Road, Ngong Road Phase I and II, Bachelors Quarters, and Pangani Estate.
The selected firms—Technofin Kenya, Green Ederman Property, Green Prestik Limited, Jabavu Village Limited, Stanlib Kenya, and Directline Assurance Limited—were awarded contracts to execute the project, which has faced repeated postponements since its initial planned September 2018 launch.
The assembly also approved a policy framework to guide implementation, addressing concerns about developer accountability, housing targets, and contractual terms that had previously fueled public debate over the project's transparency and scope.
