Deputy President Ruto's Pilot Killed in Lake Turkana Helicopter Crash ¶
Four American tourists died Monday evening when a helicopter crashed into Lake Turkana's Central Island, according to officials. The aircraft, registered to Deputy President William Ruto, was piloted by Captain Mario Magonga at the time of the accident.
The victims, identified as visitors to Lobolo Tented Camp in the island's national park, were among four passengers aboard the aircraft. Their remains are expected to arrive at Wilson Airport later today for identification and repatriation procedures.
