A Kenyan pilot and four U.S. tourists were killed Sunday in a helicopter crash near Central Island in Kenya's Lake Turkana, according to local authorities.
Police confirmed two helicopters had landed earlier that day at Labolo Tented Camp on the national park's island, but only one successfully departed the area. The incident occurred as the aircraft were operating in the remote northern region known for its rugged terrain and limited emergency response capabilities.
