Magistrate Arrested in Husband's Murder

A Nyeri magistrate was detained in 2019 in connection with the murder of her lawyer husband, who was shot seven times at his Lukenya home on February 17. Senior Principal Magistrate Pauline Omungala was summoned by Athi River police for questioning and remains in custody as the fifth suspect in the case.

President Compensates Man for Helicopter Damage

President Uhuru Kenyatta reimbursed a 77-year-old Kaloleni resident Sh250,000 in 2017 after a helicopter's turbulence damaged his home during his re-election campaign in the Coast region. The incident occurred in October 2017 when the president's aircraft caused roof damage through strong wind gusts.

Unpaid Surveillance Project Stirs Controversy

The national government has yet to pay Sh72 million to Chinese firm M/S Nanjing LES Information Technology Limited for installing surveillance cameras in Nairobi under a 2013 project. The Sh437 million Integrated Urban Surveillance System, aimed at enhancing security, remains partially unpaid despite the firm's reports of outstanding payments.
